New Year, New Fluff
chicks are back in the shed
'tis the season to consider your flock

sicilian buttercup

maybe you are thinking about raising chickens for the first time - maybe you want to add to your existing flock

useful facts
  • new chicks need to be kept in a heated, protected area for their first 8 weeks
  • hens start to lay eggs at 24 weeks - chicks you welcome now could be laying by the 4th of July!
  • the typical layer will produce eggs for 4-5 years - some people like to plan for the natural attrition by adding new birds regularly - it's a great way to enjoy the many varieties of chicken breeds

MODESTO IS BACK!

Modesto Milling provides different types of poultry feeds to meet different lifecycle requirements. Certified organic ingredients and herbs are used in all our poultry formulas. All of our products take advantage of the powerful properties of garlic, anise oil, horseradish, and juniper berry oil. Natural-sourced vitamin E (d-alpha tocopherol) is retained better and for a longer time in the body, making it more bioavailable when compared to synthetic vitamin E. Also added is Extracted Citric Acid Presscake that helps animals in their defense against health challenges. Pichia guilliermondii yeast adheres to pathogens and creates immune activity.
